The Arena Club
If you're around Central Circus in London and on the lookout for a place that brings the bold flavors of Indian cuisine together with the vibe of a social, sporty hangout, The Arena Club is the name to remember. Nestled at 17 Central Circus, London NW4 3AS, this buzzing spot isn’t your run-of-the-mill restaurant-it’s more like a full-on sensory experience that blends spicy plates, ice-cold drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for solo diners or dinner with mates.
From the moment you step inside, you’ll get why this place has built a loyal following. It’s informal, it’s loud (in the best way possible), and it’s got energy. Whether you're catching a game with a cold pint of Stella Artois at the Arena or digging into a late-night curry, it just works.
Now, let’s talk food-because The Arena Club doesn’t hold back. The Butter Chicken Curry is a crowd-puller, rich and creamy, and when paired with a warm, fluffy Garlic Naan, you’re in for a full-on flavor bomb. Craving something sizzling? The Tandoori Chicken Half or Chicken Tandoori Balti is cooked to smoky perfection. And if you're into something with a kick, the Chilli Paneer delivers the right mix of heat and tang.
The starters? Straight fire. Crispy Chicken Wings are crunchy outside, juicy inside. Or get adventurous with the Stuffed Mushrooms, a surprisingly rich and earthy bite that even meat-lovers fall for. Need a vegetarian fix with texture? The Crispy Bhajia is a must-order-deep-fried to golden crispness and perfectly seasoned.
For those looking to go big, the Chicken Biryani is not just a dish-it’s a feast. Aromatic rice, tender meat, spices that dance on the tongue-it checks all the boxes. Prefer lamb? The Lamb Korma is mellow, nutty, and simply melts in your mouth, while the Kadahi Chicken is for anyone who enjoys their curry with bold masala depth and a tomato-forward sauce.
Let’s not forget the drinks menu-it’s got enough variety to satisfy any mood. Classic cocktails like Sex on the Beach offer a fruity refreshment, while beer lovers will appreciate the full beer selection, including options like Stella and more. There's even Red Hot Chutney on the side to elevate your bites with an extra zing. For dessert lovers, Matka Kulfi and Mango Kulfi wrap things up on a sweet, chilled note.
And while the restaurant might not tick all the boxes for wheelchair accessibility-it lacks an accessible entrance, car park, and seating-it makes up for it with the convenience of multiple service options. Whether you’re dining in, grabbing a quick takeaway, or ordering in for a cozy night, The Arena Club delivers. It also serves alcohol, cocktails, spirits, wine, coffee, and even small plates if you’re not ready for a full meal.
What really sets this place apart, though, is the vibe. It's a great spot for watching sports-so if you’re into football, cricket, or just want a place where the screen’s always on and the crowd’s always lively, you’re sorted.
The Arena Club knows its audience well. It’s got the food, it’s got the drinks, and it’s got that warm, energetic feel that keeps you coming back-not just for what’s on the plate, but for the whole experience. Whether you’re unwinding after work or kicking off the weekend with friends, this restaurant balances bold flavor and casual fun like few places in NW London can.
Reviews
Today I had dinner with a friend of mine but I had no idea about the Arena restaurant. He said that its foods are very good. So I was a little sceptical but after eating the food I thought that the food was excellent and the food decoration was very good. The taste is very good, so I gave it a full five-star point because I have quality food.
Experience a combination between Indian dining and a British sports bar; enjoy a selection of different Indian dishes whilst enjoying a craft beer such as neck oil (on draught). Right next to the station which is actually visible in the dining area, convenient if youre waiting for a train of even meeting colleagues. All in all its a decent venue once you look past the questionable entrance (which is literally a doorway with a downwards stairwell which is reminiscent of other establishments).
It's a traditional pub, with a relaxed ambiance.. and great Indian cuisine.. it has generous starter portions to go with the drinks
Been coming here two years now and it never disappoints
This is arguably my favourite local Indian and probably the best in Hendon. We have dined here, ordered takeaway and used for catering service. Location of the restaurant is literally next to the tube station. The portion size for starters and curry is extremely generous unlike other places. Pricing of the food is arguably better than most Indian restaurant around the area. So all round 5*.
